Finding your way
FLIGHT RECOMMENDATIONS
There are various direct flight options that connect London and Delhi, including British Airways, Virgin Air, Vistara which we would recommend.
Stop-over flights can add a meaningful amount of time to your journey, but Qatar Airways, Emirates etc. do offer these if preferred.
VISA REQUIREMENTS
The Government of India requires travellers to get a visa for entry into the country. For European and British citizens, it is typically an e-visa which needs to be procured at least 30 days prior to travel on this website:
https://indianvisaonline.gov.in/evisa/tvoa.html
Please note, for passports from certain countries (e.g. China) there is no option to get an e-Visa and therefore you will need to make an application in person. This can sometimes take a fairly long time so we would highly recommend making your plans and applying as early as possible.
Please let us know as soon as possible in case of any issues and feel free to contact our team for Visa Support via e-mail or phone on hospitality@trellis-weddings.com or +91 93542 38221.
LODGING
All events will be taking place at the Taj Palace in New Delhi and therefore our strong recommendation is that
everyone stays there.
We have negotiated a special tariff with the hotel and blocked a number of rooms so we can all be together for
the celebrations.
Please click here to be redirected to hotel website to book your stay with the special discount already applied.
If you plan to arrive early or stay longer, kindly book those additional dates separately via the following link:

Food & Water
We strongly advise that you drink only bottled mineral water during your stay. Tap water is not suitable for drinking. Note that adding ice to your drinks outside the hotel should be avoided as well.
During the wedding, a wide variety of Indian cuisine will be on offer including street food and local specialties from across the country.
International cuisine will also be available including European and other Asian options at each meal.
Delhi offers a rich tapestry of Indian and International cuisine from street food to fine dining. While street food is delicious - it may not suit you and we recommend that you eat only hot, fresh food.
We have compiled some of
our local recommendations at the end of this website.

Clothes
You can wear western attire to the events but we strongly encourage Indian wear for the wedding ceremony in bright and vibrant colours! If you arrive a few days prior to the wedding, you can shop in person - Mehrauli, Dhan Mill and Haus Khas Village are shoppers paradise! If not, here are some shopping links that deliver internationally:

&
Transportation
To get from the Airport to the Hotel we recommend getting a MERU cab or a pre-paid taxi (check if it's air-conditioned) right outside the Terminal 3, Indira Gandhi International Airport.
You can also get an Uber, but it's quite a walk to the Uber pick up point!
If you are staying at the Taj Palace, the hotel can help organise a pick-up from the airport which will likely be the most convenient option, especially if your flight comes in late at night.
This will be slightly more expensive than the local taxi option but will probably be safest and most convenient.
For general transportation:
it’s easy to get around the city - you can either use ride-sharing apps like Uber, Ola, BluSmart or hire one from your hotel. We can also help you organise a rental cab for the duration of your travel - it is cost efficient, safe and very convenient!
Weather
Temperatures typically range from 30-35 °C in April and weather is expected to be warm in the day and pleasant in the evenings in New Delhi.

Currency

While credit cards and digital payments are widely accepted, we do recommend that you carry Indian Rupees for local shopping and travel.
You can find a foreign exchange booth at the airport, and the hotel - Taj Palace also allows you to exchange foreign currency.
Electronics
All electronic devices work on 220 volts, and you will need travel adaptors for Indians sockets.
